Cuenca Mountains
The Cuenca mountain range, which is part of the Alto Tajo National Park, is a very special place, with few places in the world that can be compared with it.
The main reason for this uniqueness is in its origin. This entire area was created at the bottom of the sea many meters deep and in the Alpine orogeny, (about 30 million years ago), it emerged to the surface due to tectonic movements when the African continent collided with the European.
The consequence of this origin is the curious, and sometimes capricious, orography, full of canyons, caves, and impossible shapes.
Therefore, this tour can be considered mainly scenic, and that is why we have given it the symbol of scenic travel, but from a motorcyclist point of view it is also very good, because the roads in this area are fantastic, with excellent pavement and a huge number of corners, 2,953 in just three days, averaging almost 1,000 corners per day, which is why we have also awarded it the fun roads symbol.
And in terms of accommodation, we give you the possibility of staying in two exceptional hotels, an 8th century Arab fortress converted into a Christian castle in the 15th century and a 16th century convent in a privileged location, for this reason we have also granted to this tour the symbol of historical accommodations.
If you are planning a romantic trip with your partner, this trip can be perfect, and that is why we have given it the symbol of romantic travel, because to the beautiful landscapes, it combines the possibility of sleeping in really magnificent hotels and the possibility of adjusting the duration of the stages to your liking, since we will offer you several alternatives in each stage.
