Southeast of Spain

A fabulous tour by the Mediterranean coast with roads that are very unknown even to the majority of Spaniards.

This tour, which can be done practically all year round, runs along the southern Mediterranean coast combining fabulous roads with beautiful beaches.

The route is through curvy secondary roads, with beautiful landscapes and very little traffic. This last aspect is the most important in the two tours that run through southern Spain and is due to the fact that Spain is a very touristy country, the second in the world, only behind the United States, and most of the tourism is It is concentrated in the south of Spain and the Mediterranean coast, so in the south we have an excellent network of Highways, most of them free, which channel all land traffic, leaving the secondary roads practically without traffic, since this is limited only to local trips, or to those who want, like us, to enjoy them.

If to this little traffic we add a huge number of curves (8,426 in the basic route), and some roads in excellent condition, we have all the ingredients to make it a perfect trip to enjoy the motorcycle. In fact, this tour has the most twisted stage of all the Spanish tours with 1,577 curves in a single day, an authentic explosion of curves that will delight the most demanding pilots.

In the landscape aspect, this tour is also very complete, with a wide variety of landscapes that include areas of medium and high mountains, several natural parks with forests of different types of trees, and coastal areas. And to highlight the beach aspect of this tour, we also offer you the possibility of adding extra days in Cabo de Gata, where you can bathe from April to October, Alicante and Valencia.

In the monumental aspect this tour includes the most important monument in Spain, the Alhambra in Granada, and some very interesting cities such as Valencia, and optionally Cuenca.

With regard to accommodation, as always, we have paid special attention to being able to offer you exceptional hotels, either because of their high quality or because they are historic buildings, and in this sense the Parador de Granada stands out, a Nasrid palace in the Alhambra itself.

For all this, this tour is perfect to spend an unforgettable vacation.

The Stages

Stage 1

Madrid →Manzanares

317km 4:44h 366 curves
9 Alternatives routes from 4:24h until 1:47h

Today we have to cross La Mancha, one of the two Spanish plains, but we have diverted the route to the Lagunas de Ruidera where the Guadiana River is born.

Stage 2

Manzanares →Cazorla

307km 6:31h 1429 curves
5 Alternatives routes From 6:16h until 2:38h

However, today we more than made up for yesterday's stage with a curvy stage that is one of our favorite stages among all the trips.

Stage 3

Cazorla →Granada

307km 5:33h 1181 curves
5 Alternatives routes from 5:23h until 2:41h

In today's stage we are going to cross the Sierra Nevada to reach Las Alpujarras, one of the most typical areas of Spain with its famous white villages.

Stage 4

Granada →Nerja

207km 4:49h 1145 curves
6 Alternatives routes from 4:25h until 1:02h

Today we are going to reach the coast through a fantastic area that, curiously, is totally unknown even to the majority of Spaniards.

Stage 5

Nerja →Cabo de Gata

314km 6:22h 1577 curves
9 Alternatives routes from 6:02h until 1:43h

This stage, with a record of curves, runs along one of the best roads in Spain, then returns to the Alpujarras and ends at the Cabo de Gata beach.

Stage 6

Cabo de Gata →Alicante

317km 5:31h 594 curves
7 Alternatives routes from 4:56h until 2:57h

Today we start the day touring the Cabo de Gata natural park and then reaching Alicante along the Mediterranean coast.

Stage 7

Alicante →Valencia

307km 6:08h 1137 curves
7 Alternatives routes from 5:27h until 1:58h

In today's stage you will be surprised by the excellent roads that we are going to discover a few kilometers from the coast.

Stage 8

Valencia →Madrid

479km 6:53h 997 curves
6 Alternatives routes from 6:19h until 3:37h

To return to Madrid we are going to divert the route to go through Cuenca and enjoy some magnificent roads, full of curves and with beautiful landscapes.

Extension A

Rest day in Granada

Although we have already taken into account that you will want to visit the Alhambra, planning a relatively short stage to Nerja, a rest day in Granada is highly recommended, not only to be able to visit the Alhambra calmly, but also to visit the city in depth and thus be able to admire its fantastic Cathedral and also be able to enjoy the world capital of Tapas, since those of Granada are, by far, the best.

Extension B

Stopover in Cuenca

The route from Valencia to Madrid, passing through Cuenca, is so good that we have had to give up many roads so that its duration does not skyrocket. But there is a great way to enjoy all these fabulous roads, make a stopover in Cuenca and split the trip over two days. But also Cuenca is a very interesting city from the monumental point of view, in which its Cathedral and the Hanging Houses stand out, so this extension is highly recommended.

Extension C

Rest day in Valencia

In Valencia you can visit the City of Arts and Sciences, which consists of several buildings designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava. But if you visit this fabulous group of buildings in depth, you will need a day of rest in this magnificent city that will also give you the opportunity to try the famous Valencian paella, which is a dish that is eaten for lunch, never for dinner.

Extension D

Rest day in Cabo de Gata

On a tour with a marked beach character, you should not miss the opportunity to spend some day enjoying the beach. Although on this tour there is a beach in Nerja, Alicante and Valencia, our first recommendation would be to spend a day at the beach at Cabo de Gata because here you will enjoy the best beach weather of the entire trip. In this area it rains very little, so the sun is practically guaranteed.

Extension E

Rest day in Alicante

But in Cabo de Gata there is nothing else to do than go to the beach. If you prefer to combine the beach with a good paella, (there are many people who think that the best rice dishes are those of Alicante), and do some cultural tourism, Alicante will be a better option because it can offer you all three.

What does the tour include?

Z

Fuel management planning

Every 300 km at most, we will include a gas station, so that you don't worry about managing your fuel.

Z

Hotel Accommodation

We can also, if you wish, take care of your accommodation according to your budget. Thanks to our experience we can provide you with excellent accommodations during your route. These are some of the places where you can rest on this tour:

Manzanares

The Parador de Manzanares, built in 1928, was the first Hostel for motorists in Spain, which later became part of the network of Paradores de Turismo. Since then, several reforms have been made to adjust it to the 4* category and to give a typical La Mancha house style.

Cazorla

The Parador de Cazorla is another example of a parador located in the middle of a natural park where no one would be allowed to build a hotel. But since the network of paradores is owned by the state, this exception will allow you to enjoy a beautiful site.

Granada

In 1495, three years after the taking of Granada that ended the reconquest, the Catholic Monarchs ordered to build a convent from one of the Nasrid palaces, where they were even buried until the completion of the Cathedral, where they are now. This convent had several extensions, especially in the 18th century and from 1945 it became one of the three best Paradores in Spain, along with those of Santiago and León.

Nerja

The Nerja hotel is located on a cliff next to the sea with beautiful views, but it also has a panoramic elevator that gives you direct access to the beach.

Cabo de Gata

In Cabo de Gata we have several hotels, all of them 4 *, which we recommend depending on the client's preferences between Golf and Beach.

Alicante

A modern 5 * hotel located in the marina with direct access to the beach.

Valencia

19th century mansion with an excellent location within the city.

Cuenca

A 16th century convent that enjoys spectacular views as it is located at the top of the city, next to the hanging houses.
