This Tour runs through one of the best areas of Spain, but which is very unknown even to the majority of Spaniards. It is about Sierra Morena, which is the mountain range that separates the central plateau from the Guadalquivir depression.

Sierra Morena is divided into several sub-mountain ranges that are from east to west; Sierra de Aracena, Sierra norte de Sevilla, Sierra de Hornachuelos, Sierra de Cardeña, Sierra de Andujar and Sierra de despeñaperros. The basic version includes the last four and the first two can be included in the extensions, which is highly recommended.

The tour takes place almost entirely on secondary roads, full of curves, and with very little traffic, so it is perfect to enjoy the motorcycle. Even to cross La Mancha, (leaving from Madrid), we have looked for secondary roads that reduce the use of highways or boring roads to the minimum possible.

In the landscape aspect, Sierra Morena is a beautiful area. It is not a range of high mountains, so the landscapes are mostly wooded, and in the flatter areas you can enjoy the aroma of olive trees.

On the tourist side, this tour focuses on the City of Córdoba, which has excellent hotels and several monuments, among which its famous mosque stands out, which is currently a Christian cathedral, but also allows, optionally, to include the cities of Mérida and Seville.

The Stages

Stage 1

Madrid →Córdoba

404km 5:22h 638 curves
3 Alternatives routes from 5:27h until 4:16h

In this first stage we cross La Mancha, diverting the trip to avoid the highway and enjoy some excellent roads.

Stage 2

Excursion toSierra Morena

375km 6:00h 902 curves
3 Alternatives routes from 5:17h until 3:54h

This stage is the best of the trip, since, in addition to having excellent landscapes, it includes an amazing road that I discovered by chance a few years ago.

Stage 3

Córdoba →Almagro

314km 6:04h 1180 curves
8 Alternative routes from 5:28 h. to 2:29 h.

This stage is the most fun to enjoy the bike, since it contains a large number of curves on roads where you will not meet anyone.

Stage 4

Almagro →Madrid

227km 3:00h 163 curves
3 Alternatives routes from 2:58h until 2:13h

Today's stage is more cultural than biker, in which you can visit the La Mancha windmills and the monumental city of Toledo.

Extension A

Detour to Mérida

Extending the route with a night in Mérida, a city famous for its Roman theatre, so perfectly preserved that it is still in use, will allow you to explore the western area of Sierra Morena, which are the Aracena and northern Seville mountains. In addition, this extension will allow you to improve the last stage.

Extension B

Detour to Seville

Seville is a fabulous city that is well worth a visit, as it is full of monuments and places of interest, but in addition, adding this extension will allow you to explore in greater depth both the Sierra de Aracena and the Sierra Norte de Sevilla, which are two fabulous areas to ride a motorcycle.
