Grazalema Mountains

This tour extends one more day the Arcos de la Frontera tour to explore the Sierra de Grazalema in greater depth and add a night in Gibraltar, a very interesting place.

In the biker aspect, this tour is magnificent, since to the extraordinary roads of the Sierra de Grazalema it adds the also excellent roads near the Guadalhorce reservoir. It is a tour with a huge number of curves, with a total of 3,165. This gives us an average of 1,055 curves per day, which will delight the most demanding riders. But for this reason it is not a tour for beginners, even though the roads are good and there is very little traffic, especially on weekdays.

With regard to landscapes, this tour passes mainly through the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, one of the most beautiful areas of Andalusia, which is surprising for its greenery, caused by the large amount of rain it receives because in this point converge the Atlantic and Mediterranean currents. The passage is basically wooded, highlighting the Pinsapos, (a type of tall fir), the cork oaks and the holm oaks. But although this area is one of those that registers the highest amounts of annual precipitation in Spain, it has the peculiarity that it is not an area with many rainy days a year, (what happens is that when it rains it does so intensely), therefore that it is relatively easy to anticipate the rain, and therefore avoid it.

Monumentally, this tour also includes a visit to Ronda, one of the most touristic cities in Spain, on two of the days of the route, although on the second we only recommend going around it to be able to spend some time in Marbella. For its part, Gibraltar, although it is not a monumental place, does have a peculiar aesthetic, as it is basically a military fort.

Regarding accommodation, Arcos de la Frontera has a national Parador nestled in a privileged place, with fabulous views and in Gibraltar you will have the opportunity to stay on a ship converted into a 5-star hotel. In any case, if you prefer, you can also opt for the possibility of staying in Sotogrande, one of the most exclusive marinas in Spain, which is a few kilometers from Gibraltar.
