Pyrenees & Occitanie

Lleida and Barcelona are very close, but we have diverted the route to enjoy the fantastic roads of the Prades mountains.

The stopover in Boltaña is optional in the Pyrenees tour, but in this tour we have included it in the basic route because it gives us two fabulous stages.

Yesterday's stage crossed the Catalan pre-Pyrenees on roads very unknown to the general public, today's stage runs on even more unknown roads.

Today's stage focuses on touring the Irati Forest, one of the most beautiful areas in the entire Pyrenees, and entering Spain following the Santiagio path.

This stage is sewing the French border entering and leaving our neighbouring country through different mountain passes.

This stage, in French territory, runs through the Pyrenees National Park. Also, if you wish, you will have the opportunity to visit the sanctuary of Lourdes.

In today's stage you will arrive in Andorra through Spanish territory, crossing the Arán valley and crossing several gorges and mountain passes.

Today you will visit the Parc Naturel des Pyrenees Ariegeoises, a very beautiful area and totally unknown even to the French themselves.

Today's stage skirts the Parc Naturel du Haut Languedoc, to enter another national park, specifically the Causses du Quercy.

In this stage you will go through a very beautiful area, which includes a tour of the southern area of the Parc natural des Volcans d’Auvergne.

We already started our return with a beautiful stage through the Parc Naturel regional de l’Aubrac, another fantastic area to enjoy the motorcycle.

At this stage we are going to reach the coast but along some beautiful roads, among which the gorges of the Tarn river stand out.

Today we will sleep on the coast again, but we have planned the route through the interior to find more fun roads and especially beautiful villages.

This last stage runs entirely along the sea, but not along just any coast, but along the Costa Brava, one of the most beautiful coasts.

Carcassone is one of the most touristic cities in France, since its medieval town is fantastic, making it a very appropriate place to include a day of rest. In addition, this rest day would coincide with the centre of the trip, so it is also the perfect time.

A stopover in Albi will allow you to enter the Parc Naturel du Haut Languedoc, and explore its many mountain passes. In addition, including this stopover, it divides the long stage from Carcassone to Rocamadour in two, and although the stopover extends the trip, the daily route is reduced.

Including this stopover in Lezoux will allow you to get to know the Livradois-Forez Nature Park, which has beautiful roads. The excursion in Causse Mejean, which starts from Sainte Enimie, is highly recommended, as the roads of the Cevennes National Park are beautiful. On the other hand, this excursion will allow you to enjoy one more day at the Sainte Enime hotel.

Diverting the route to Tortosa will allow you to explore the Prades mountains in all its depth, one of the best areas for motorcycle riding in Spain. This extension can be included alone or combined with the extension of the detour to Cardona, without repeating a single km of road.

Diverting the route to Cardona will allow you to travel the excellent Catalan secondary roads in the first stage from to Barcelona. When you ride on them, you understand why in Catalonia there is so much love for motorcycling.

The excursion in Andorra covers absolutely ALL the roads of the principality, going up to all its peaks. It is a bit of a strange route, going up and down six different mountains, but it is a lot of fun, because the roads are excellent and the views are impressive.

If you are fond of gastronomy, you cannot miss the opportunity to visit San Sebastián, (the city with the most Michelin stars per inhabitant in the world), which, in addition, will give you the opportunity to travel fantastic roads, some of them bordering the coastline by beautiful cliffs.

And if you have diverted the route to San Sebastián, a single night will know little, so it would be highly recommended to add a second night. This would give you the opportunity to take an excursion to Biarritz, the favorite vacation spot of the European aristocracy in the 19th century.
