Long tours combine two or three medium tours or extend one of them to reach more remote areas. This tour combines our two tours in the Pyrenees area, the Pyrenees tour itself and the one in southwestern France that focuses on the Occitania region.

While the Pyrenees area is well known to most bikers, the Occitania region is not at all, so this tour perfectly combines the two perspectives from which you can plan a motorcycle trip, tour the Mythical areas you have heard from your friends and discover new areas for you to tell them about.

But, as always in our tours, also in the most popular areas we have included some fantastic roads that we are sure no friend of yours will have ridden. We consider that this aspect is the one that gives added value to our trips and we spend a lot of time and effort to go deeply into each region so that our trips are different from those offered by other companies.

In the biker aspect, the word Pyrenees is already a guarantee that the trip will be fantastic. The roads of the Pyrenees are characterized by being one of the best mountain roads in Europe, and also with an aspect that should be highlighted especially and this is that they have much less traffic than the Alpine roads. This aspect will allow you to enjoy the motorcycle much more than in any other European mountain area.

In the landscape aspect, this tour combines high and medium mountain areas with many forests and even some coastal road, so it is a very varied tour in terms of landscapes.

It is not a monumental journey, because it hardly passes through cities with a great cultural heritage, but even so, there are some like Carcassonna where, if you wish, you can add a day of rest.

In the hotel aspect, we have taken special care to find exceptional accommodation in the vast majority of the stages, but, as always, we can also adjust to your budget, and in the gastronomic aspect you can combine popular mountain cuisine with sophisticated French cuisine.

257km 5:40h 955 curves
8 Alternative routes From 5:23h until 2:21h

At this stage we are going to reach the coast but along some beautiful roads, among which the gorges of the Tarn river stand out.

Stage 13

Montpellier →Perpignan

304km 5:16h 889 curves
7 Alternatives routes from 4:40h until 1:53h

Today we will sleep on the coast again, but we have planned the route through the interior to find more fun roads and especially beautiful villages.

Stage 14

Perpignan →Barcelona

303km 6:34h 1141 curves
5 Alternatives routes from 5:48h until 2:37h

This last stage runs entirely along the sea, but not along just any coast, but along the Costa Brava, one of the most beautiful coasts.

Extension A

Rest day in Carcassonne

Carcassone is one of the most touristic cities in France, since its medieval town is fantastic, making it a very appropriate place to include a day of rest. In addition, this rest day would coincide with the centre of the trip, so it is also the perfect time.

Extension B

Stopover in Albi

A stopover in Albi will allow you to enter the Parc Naturel du Haut Languedoc, and explore its many mountain passes. In addition, including this stopover, it divides the long stage from Carcassone to Rocamadour in two, and although the stopover extends the trip, the daily route is reduced.

Extension C

Stopover in Lezoux

Including this stopover in Lezoux will allow you to get to know the Livradois-Forez Nature Park, which has beautiful roads. On the other hand, including this stopover, it divides the long stage from Rocamadour and Chaudes Aigues into two, and although the stopover extends the trip, the daily route is reduced.

Extension D

Excursion in Causse Mejean

The excursion in Causse Mejean, which starts from Sainte Enimie, is highly recommended, as the roads of the Cevennes National Park are beautiful. On the other hand, this excursion will allow you to enjoy one more day at the Sainte Enime hotel.

Extension E

Detour to Tortosa

Diverting the route to Tortosa will allow you to explore the Prades mountains in all its depth, one of the best areas for motorcycle riding in Spain. This extension can be included alone or combined with the extension of the detour to Cardona, without repeating a single km of road.

Extension F

Detour to Cardona

Diverting the route to Cardona will allow you to travel the excellent Catalan secondary roads in the first stage from to Barcelona. When you ride on them, you understand why in Catalonia there is so much love for motorcycling.

Extension G

Excursion in Andorra

The excursion in Andorra covers absolutely ALL the roads of the principality, going up to all its peaks. It is a bit of a strange route, going up and down six different mountains, but it is a lot of fun, because the roads are excellent and the views are impressive.

Extension H

Detour to San Sebastián

If you are fond of gastronomy, you cannot miss the opportunity to visit San Sebastián, (the city with the most Michelin stars per inhabitant in the world), which, in addition, will give you the opportunity to travel fantastic roads, some of them bordering the coastline by beautiful cliffs.

Extension I

Excursion to Biarritz

And if you have diverted the route to San Sebastián, a single night will know little, so it would be highly recommended to add a second night. This would give you the opportunity to take an excursion to Biarritz, the favorite vacation spot of the European aristocracy in the 19th century.
