This tour expands our tour of the Prades mountains by adding a night in Cardona, which allows us to return to Barcelona through the Bages region, an area with excellent roads.
We have called it Catalan Castles, because both in Tortosa and Cardona you will have the opportunity to stay in two castles, the one in Tortosa is an Arab fortress from the 10th century that was ceded to the Knights Templar, and the one in Cardona is a Christian castle, also from the 10th century, but which was expanded several times over the centuries, making it a compendium of styles.
On the biker side, this tour is simply fabulous, since to the extraordinary roads of the Prades mountains it adds the also excellent roads of the Bages. It is a tour with a tremendous number of curves, with a total of 3415. Which gives us an average of 3.84 curves per kilometer or 1,138 corners per day, a real feast for the most demanding riders. But for this reason it is not a tour for beginners, even though the roads are good and there is very little traffic, especially on weekdays.
Regarding the landscapes, this tour runs mainly through mid-mountain roads, with beautiful landscapes of forests and lakes, but there is also a short route along an excellent coastal road.
It is not a very monumental trip because in both destinations the most interesting thing is the hotel itself, so it is not a tour to make cultural visits, but you do not need it, what you will want is to get back on the motorcycle.
In the gastronomic aspect, in Catalonia you always eat well, and this tour is no exception, even if it is not a tour with haute cuisine restaurants. For this reason we have not given it the food tour symbol, although we have been tempted to do so.
What we have given it has been the symbol of romantic travel, because the fact of being able to sleep in these castles already makes it a very appropriate trip to do it as a couple. Thinking about this possibility in each of the stages we are going to offer you a large number of shorter alternatives so that you can choose the one that best suits your preferences.
